Group Study Exchange

The Vocational Exchange Program of Rotary International

The Rotary Club of Belleville has often participated in this program, which involves the reciprocal exchange of a team of 4 -5 adults, accompanied by a Rotarian leader. Participants, aged 25 to 40, observe how their profession is learned and conducted in the country visited.

Invariably, participants also learn a great deal about the culture and geography of the country visited. These exchanges foster an understanding of different vocations and cultures, thereby promoting peace and world understanding.

Our District's Participation

Recently, District 7070 sent a team to New Zealand. In the fall of 2001, Belleville Rotarian Ted Reid led a team on a five week exchange to Scotland, while members of the Belleville Club hosted the Scottish team for a week.

During their visit, the Scottish team enjoyed the hospitality of many of our Club's members, made presentations about Scotland to the Belleville and Quinte Sunrise Rotary Clubs, and toured many local and County sites.

When Ted's team returned from Scotland, they spoke at the Club about their experiences in Scotland and the hospitality of their Scottish hosts.

Malaysian Exchange

In 2002, from October 14th to 19th, the Belleville Club hosts a team from Malaysia. While in Belleville, they will speak at the Picton Rotary Club and then enjoy the sites and sounds of the greater Quinte area.

In 2003, the District will send a return team to Malaysia.

If you are eligible, and interested in applying, please contact the Club for more information.
