Poker Walk and Awards Banquet
Walk, Eat, Play - WE'RE ALL IN!!!
Here's how it works
- At 2:00 pm, Saturday April 26, 2008, up to 40 teams of 8 people will walk 5 km along the Riverside Trail and through downtown Belleville, collecting playing cards to make the winning poker hand. Banquet, poker showdown, party, and prize awards at the Banquet Centre.
- There will be six Dealer Booths along the way. Each team will have one deck of cards distributed among the seven booths. Each team will draw one playing card at each booth ending up with a poker hand of seven cards at the end of the walk.
- Extra cards may be purchased for every $100 of extra funds raised by the team.
- Team Sponsors - each team will be sponsored by and comprised of individuals from local companies (e.g. employees, associates, clients, families or friends).
- Placards - each team carries a large placard with the sponsor and team member's names. Before or after the Walk, this stand-alone sign can also be displayed at your company's office or other suitable location.
- Prizes will be awarded to the 3 teams with the best poker hand.
- Team Members' pledges entitle them to a gala evening at the Banquet Centre with awards, entertainment, great food and festivities included.
Prizes
- Royal Flush Winner: The team with the best poker hand
- Four Aces Winner: The team with the second best hand
- Full House Winner: The team with the third best hand
- These three winning teams will take their pick of team prizes:
- Dinner for two and 2 tickets to the Beatles Festival at The Empire Theatre for each team member
- Ontario Casino Trip Package
- Group Party for 25
Trip for Two to Las Vegas!
Every team member receives one ticket in a draw, plus one ticket for every additional $200 raised in pledges. The winning ticket will be drawn at the banquet.

- 5:30 pm: Enjoy cocktails or soft drinks at the cash bar
- Teams pick out their 7th and last free card.
- 7:00 pm: Dinner
- Best hand Poker Showdown - each team puts their best 5 cards forward
- In the event of a tie, fasten your seatbelts for the Poker Playoff!
- Live Music and Entertainment featuring Glen Marais
- Prizes Awarded to teams and individuals
