Rotary Theme - Disease Prevention & Treatment Month
Dec 01, 2020 8:00 AM - Dec 31, 2020

Our health is everything. Yet 400 million people in the world can’t afford or don’t have access to basic health care. We believe good health care is everyone’s right.

Our members combat diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and polio. Prevention is important, which is why we also focus on health education and bringing people routine hearing, vision, and dental care.

Educate current and new club members. Dedicate time to discussing the importance of The Four-Way Test and the Rotarian Code of Conduct. Discuss ethical dilemmas. Recognize those who do good. Honor businesses or professionals that demonstrate high ethical standards. Engage young people. Mentorship opportunities allow you to share your knowledge and guide youth in building a successful future.

Satellite Club Meeting (ZOOM)
Jan 14, 2021 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Our next meeting is this Thursday, Jan. 14.  We are hoping for a great turnout as Brenda Snider from Volunteer Information Quinte will be joining us to tell us about what types of volunteer activities are happening during these times (which might change again after today’s provincial update).  We’ve had a few discussions and made some decisions on fundraising as a very small group – it would be great to have some more thoughts from everybody. Please contact Anya-Deane Best with any other agenda items.

Rotary Theme - Peace & Conflict Prevention/Resolution Month
Feb 01, 2021 - Mar 01, 2021

We refuse to accept conflict as a way of life. Rotary projects provide training that fosters understanding and provides communities with the skills to resolve conflicts.

Through our service projects, peace fellowships, and scholarships, our members are taking action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, inequality, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.

Rotary Theme - Water & Sanitation Month
Mar 01, 2021 8:00 AM - Mar 31, 2021

Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life.

When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families.

Rotary Theme - Maternal & Child Health Month
Apr 01, 2021 - Apr 30, 2021

Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger.

We expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future. An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented.
