Rotarian Brenda Snider introduced Jared Bellemare, a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Belleville since 2023. Jared is the co-chair of the Member and Acquisition & Development Committee along with Past President Peter Malone. He is also the Chair of the Indigenous Peoples Partnership and a new addition as of July 1st to the Belleville Rotary Board. In 2023, Jared was the recipient of the Ruth Burrows volunteer of the year award as well as a Community Champion recipient from Ryan Williams. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Belleville Chamber of Commerce. Jared is a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker and Chartered Insurance Professional and recently celebrated his 10th year as a Commercial Insurance Broker for Whitley Newman Insurance. One busy guy and a very welcome addition to the Club!
Jared grew up in Prince Edward County and has known his wife, Shannon since kindergarten. They have three children who have been introduced to community service already and often they are at events with their parents, helping where needed. Jared's father owns a construction company and although Jared worked during the summer months since he was 14, learning about hard work and how to get to know the community, he pursued a career in insurance, a better fit, he felt for his personality. He meets with business owners and explains how insurance can help them reduce risk in their business. Finding a balance is important although insurance is a stable industry. Cyber insurance is new in the field, causing rapid changes, an opportunity for Jared to be a proactive partner with the business.
Jared gained an understanding of community service from his father, an excellent role model. Jared has been involved with United Way product sales for a number of years and that evolved into other community service opportunities as a volunteer. Dancing with the Stars, 50/50 ticket sales and connecting with that group of people, all volunteers who led Jared to Rotary. He has found the Club to be very warm and inviting, a positive experience for him and his wife, Shannon and a valuable support system. Volunteering alongside a number of people with lots of expertise, proving we are all in this together. Thank you.
Past President Peter Malone presented Jared with his blue badge and said it was a privilege of Peter's year as President to welcome Jared to the Club. Jared jumped in with both feet and helped with Camp Merrywood, active in RLK, the bottle drive, joined the Board for the 2025/2026 Rotary Year, Canada Day parking, and newly appointed Chair of the IPPC. Jared has made a difference and Peter thanked Jared for choosing Rotary, not for himself only, but for his family as well. Great choice!
