Secretary Christian Jaehn-Kreibaum chaired the October 1st evening meeting at Capers and provided some highlights. Peter Malone and Jared Bellemare provided an updated on Member Acquisition & Development (MAD), seeing 13 new members join during the last Rotary year with emphasis on mentorship and committee participation. Great job on recruiting, but a reminder that a strong Rotary Club is built on meaningful engagement by all. The Club is exploring renewed participation in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. Host families would be required for an inbound student. An information session is being held on October 27th at the Stirling train station. Two projects of the Club are looking for volunteers to help – Rotary Reindeer Park to setup, teardown and be a cheerleader (not literally) the day of the Santa Claus Parade. Also Clowns for Kids that has raised $7,000 to $10,000 needs volunteers to share the workload. At the start of the evening, members shared their Rotary experiences and a recurring theme was the importance of friendship and fellowship alongside community service. We are all encouraged to get involved (or stay involved) and build relationships.
